Fluff Lamp

  • Object: lamp
  • Material: polyester fibers
  • Year: 2016

The concept of this project was to take a commonly used material and repurpose it. We then decided to study and test the insulating foam used to make clothes, finding eventually a new way of shaping it. The result was a durable rounded shape made from a fluff form cured with potato flour. The fiber structure distributes the light internally and creates an interplay of light externally. It is minimalistic enough to fit many spaces and types of architecture, but in the same time it has its own character. In fact, while the object is symmetric, there are 2 indented curves that create different profiles of shade.
